Our Training Program

We provide a Food Prep & Baking Job Training & Placement Program. The Program duration is 5 weeks and FREE for adults and youth over 18. It includes commercial food preparation and baking along with job readiness skills essential to getting a job.

The Program is offered in person at our industrial kitchen located at 1615 University Avenue in Berkeley and online as needed for those living outside the Bay Area.

What You Can Achieve 

1.

Competencies: Safe Food Handling, Equipment Knowledge, Culinary/Bakers Math, Basic Food Prep & Baking Knowledge & Skills, Kitchen Professionalism, Quality Control, Personal Responsibility, Following Directions, Time Management 

2.

Job Readiness Skills: Resume Writing, Internet Searching, How to Interview; and Emotional Intelligence Skills: Attitude, Motivation, Communication, Conflict Resolution, and Goal Setting 

3.

Real World Experience: Preparing 500 Meals Weekly for You and Your Family, and the Homeless and Food Insecure.

What Happens on Graduation

1.

Certifications: You will have a Certificate of Completion and your SERVSafe Food Handler Certification from the State of California.

2.

Follow Up: We stay with you for at least 12 months to assist with job interviews, announcements, and 1:1 job counseling.

3.

Ongoing Learning: You have a lifelong subscription to ROUXBE, the leading global online learning platform to refresh and remain current in your career.

4.

Community: You become part of our family of alumni for networking and mutual support.
